Movin’ On

Epilogue

November 25, 1987

Hazzard County Georgia

The Duke family, along with several friends, including the Hazzard County Sheriff’s department, were gathered around the Thanksgiving table, listening as Bo and Luke recounted what had happened to them in the couple of months they had been in California.  They told about how Jack had confessed to attempting to kidnap Bo, and how the jury had pressed for attempted homicide as well.  Jack Talon had received 25 years to life in prison for the various crimes committed in that one night.

Then as they were getting ready to enjoy their pumpkin pie Jesse asked that each one say something they were especially thankful for that year.  When they got to Luke, he reached over and, for the first time in front of anyone in Hazzard, except Jesse and Daisy, he took Bo’s hand in his “I’m especially thankful that I have found the other half of my soul, something that in my stupidity I nearly lost, I’m thankful to have Bo Duke as the most important person in my life, and I’m thankful every day for the love he gives to me.”

The admission brought tears to Bo’s eyes, as he leaned over and kissed Luke’s cheek, “And I’m thankful for the love you give to me,” he said softly.

Their friends took the news of their relationship well, in fact some of them said that they were surprised it didn’t happen sooner.  And at the end of the week, Bo and Luke took the General and began the drive back to their new home, and new life, in San Francisco, wondering what they would discover around each bend, but knowing that whatever it was, they would do it as they had always done everything, together.
